TIOMAN,a trip to remember

Tioman island is one of the heaven for divers around Malaysia. i went there in early march this year.
Actually we plan to go Perhentian island but during that period Perhentian still closed due to monsoon season. Tioman is the earliest island in the pantai timur to start their operation whereby other island only start to operate mid or end of march.
We were told that the sea gonna be clearer in April, June and July. Where the weather is more nicer.
At the time we stayed there, the weather was just fine. Only in the night it is raining.

This time me and my friend decided to plan first. We browse the internet and found many good packages to choose on. After checking  and compare we found the cheapest package, which is at SOBA resorts situated at Kg Genting. There are a number places in Tioman you can stayed Kg Genting, Salang,Paya and etc.

The package that we choose is a 3d2n including accommodation quad sharing room, meal exclude for lunch for the first day, ferry tix, snorkeling at 3 different places, and BBQ. The packages for quad sharing room is RM275.For more detail do visit their website : http://www.sobatioman.com/

The extra cost that is not include in the package is RM5 for Marine park charge and RM5 for snorkeling gear. Plus meal for lunch for the first day about RM7 and another RM10 for snack. The jetty were situated at Mersing, i think the expense for transportation if you go by car about RM50 per person include oil and food.

The first day
We arrive at Mersing jetty, there is someone you have to find, they will arrange for your ferry. When fisrt arrive at Tioman we all were amazed by the crystal clear of the sea. You can see fish swim in the sea. Once we arrived at the Kg Genting jetty, the staff of Soba resort was there to welcomed us,we were serve with welcomed drink, the staff at Soba Resort were really nice. There is not much activity done in the first day as we are tired of long hour of driving, so just take a nap, have our lunch at the nearest warong, go for a walk, and go and swim in the evening.

The second day
It were filled with awesomness activity. Snorkeling for 3-4 hours. It was great you can see the coluorful coral and fish. If you were lucky enough you might even see turtle!!!. Then in the night we have our BBQ and also a karaoke.

The third day
The ferry awaits us on 9 o'clock, its consider as early rite, but we have to follow the schedule. Then off to KL.

The Chalet
What i loved about the chalet is they have a open hall where you can watch TV, and chillexing. The room was not too great but it is comfortable and equipped with air-cond. Their services were great, they even call you if the food were ready. The food was great and there are quite a lot!!. The chalet is not a sea view chalet, but it is very near to the beach.

The Snorkeling
They will bring you to two snorkeling spot and the third one you can choose weather to go to river or the tekek the shopping town. But we advise you to go to the river where you can relax yourself with fresh water. There is not much you can buy at tioman although they are tax free, the only cheap is cigarette and liquor.

The BBQ
To me the BBQ was not to great as i experienced in Pangkor. The food was kinda okey. And we are not to lucky as it is raining so we had to have it indoor.

The Total Cost
Overall cost per person is mainly RM352. My advise it is easier for you to take the packages, although it is quite expensive but it is easier s the arrange everything for you. Yeah you can saved up if you just planned it for yourself, but you will not have a great food like if you take the package.

All i can say, Tioman is a must place to go, as they offer you the best colorful coral reef and fish. A placed where you can relax your mind and to enjoy the best nature can offer.

Plan for your trip now~

Pulau Pangkor

As i told you earlier my hobby is financial, travelling and photography.
so this entry for helping you guys plan on a trip.

If been to Pulau Pngkor in august 2009
Actually is an unplanned trip where me and my friend just take our car and off to lumut due to H1N1 holiday at UiTM.
Pangkor is quite a nice to go as they open every year and not to affected by the monsoon.

1st day we arrived we took ferry from lumut. From the places that i went, Pangkor have the cheapest ferry fare.
RM10 return fare.
And there are quite a lot trip so its quite convenient.

Once we arrived there, we go straight to our chalet. My friend suggest it as they know somebody there.
The chalet is nice as we have the sea view.Actually i forget the name of the chalet.LOL.
The chalet cost us RM120 per night for 4 pax.
Which mainly RM60 for two nights per pack.

A lesson to learn actually, we didn't booked the room, so we have problem in getting room, we have to wait for 1 hour to make sure whether there is a room for us. But luck on our side, some of their customer have to last minute postponed their trip.
So if you wanna go for a trip, at least booked your room.

We didn't do much activity in the first day, just swimming in the sea, and rent a bicycle around the island.
The fare for renting the bicycle only RM5 per day.

The chalet have a cafe but they only cater if you take their packages. But not to worry as they are a lot of warung near the chalet. The food there is quite expensive if you compare in KL, but of course it is an island. My expense on food is like RM30 for two days.

On the 2nd day, we go for snorkeling trip. The cost for snorkeling is RM20 per pax.
But i think, Pangkor does not offer you the best view for snorkeling, but its quite okaylaa~

Nothing to see there, there are not much coral but there a lot of colorful fish though.
The trip is about for 3 hours and we go about 2 places.
Back  at the chalet we play the banana ride. It was SUXK~
hahahahahaha. Its an awful and we have to pay RM15 per pax.

That night we ask the cafe to handle  BBQ for us, it was AWSOME!!!
It cost us RM200 for 9 people.
The seafood was fresh and there a lot!!!

On the third day before we take the ferry, go and shop a liitle, Pnagkor is famous with their ikan bilis and sea product, iys quite cheap and really fresh. I spent about RM50.

So here the budget overall budget per person is about RM220 and for transport if u coming by car mainly RM160 per car for oil and some tidbits, which mainly RM40 per pax.

Total expense is RM260 including shopping. Yeah its cheap isn't it!!!
What you waiting for plan for your trip, have fun and see the wonderful pangkor :)

Save some for rainy day.

Hello guys,i heard this proverb quite many times, as it same goes like 'sediakan payung sebelum hujan'.
This saving is different from my last entry which is said about investment, don't get confuse with it kay =).

This topic is save some of your money for emergency account (E.A), you'll never know you might be needed it to pay summons ticket, fix your car, or have to but ticket for balik kampung. For student lets start have your E.A.

In saving for emergency, im gonna goes with 5% rules. Always saved 5% of your total budget.
Let say you you receive every semester 4000 per semester.
1) Put aside 5% of the total 4000 for emergency used in future which is 200
2) Then let say monthly you budgeted 300 per month, make sure not spend it all, use the 5% rule again, so every month you should have in your E.A about 15.
3) Even, when you plan to go shopping and in your hand there is about 200, make sure put aside 5% to your E.A.
4) REMEMBER. This E.A is mainly for emergency. Buying things on sale is not emergency okay. LOL

Can you really used your E.A?
For a student, my advise always make sure you E.A have about 500, then only the extra you used it.Make sure you keep it higher than 500. ill used my extra for my travel account.Try to maintain it, yeah why not the extra you invest in ASB then =).
Then you can kill two birds in one stone invest and saving.

saving isn't enough.

early in the semester when me and my friends receive our scholarship, one of them said,
"kalau kita simpan dalam 1000 satu sem, dah dapat 8000 grad nnti boleh buat byr deposit kete kan."

i totally agreed with it, but all i know only 2 out 8 really saved every sem. LOL

but thats not my point, what i wanna highlight here rather than saved why not invest the money.

The simplest investment you can invest in is ASB, a zero risk investment, because owned by the government.
But ASB has a minimum returns for about 6-8%. If every semester you invest 2000 per year for 4 years, you will get +-9500 if 7% returns per year.

2000            x 1.07 =2140
2140+2000  x 1.07 =4430
4430+2000  x 1.07 =6880
6880+2000  x 1.07 =9500

If you want a higher returns try and invest in PUBLIC MUTUAL one of the well known unit trust.
My mom invest about 1000 with my cousin who is a agent, and my mom get a 30% returns~
Take if 20% returns per year. You can get a profit 4538.
2000            x 1.2 =2200
2200+2000  x 1.2 =5040
5040+2000  x 1.2 =8448
8448+2000  x 1.2 =12538

But i don't know about public mutual specifically, so ask their agent before invest in it.

For the investment that i heard have a quite bad performance is CIMB mutual fund. This is just what i heard no fact at all okay, so do your research first.

For those who are risk adverse just saved in ASB then. Your money is secured by the government : )

okay as for sum up
lets change the idea of SAVING to INVEST.
Help your money grow.

Plan for your trip

okay as i mentioned before im gonna post bout the trip thing yup~
first thing first plan where your dream vacation.
my advise, choose places where you can minimize your accommodation expense.
accommodation is the most costly, so it is a big advantage if you can minimize it.
go to places where you have friend there.
if you are going to places in asean like Indonesian, the accommodation wont be to costly but if you are going to Europe, better find a friend there.

orait, after planning your destination it is time for you to saved up.
have your time frame. tabled your savings in one or two years.
when it comes to saving, you really need to discipline your self.
the easiest way give your savings to your mom!!!!
thats really gonna help guys.

okay thats all i think.
next im gonna put some info on the places and the cost so my reader can saved and plan well =)

Travel!!!!

Bandung

Travelling is one of my hobby, the last place i went is Bandung. on may 2009.
It was a blast as Bandung is one of the shopping heaven and the place is nice, the picture above taken at one of the volcano mountain.
i am kind a lucky because i have a friend who is taking medicine there to show me the wonderful Bandung.

The whole cost plus all the shopping i did is about RM 2000 plus the flight ticket which about RM 400-600.
You can find a cheaper ticket if you are lucky.

All the expense is from my pocket money which i saved from 1st semester. My next trip will be U.K this winter~

My advise to all who likes to travel, saved up, try to make friends and enjoy your trip~

I will post article on tips how to have a affordable trip later okay :)

Bajet 2011 : 100% Loan on your first house

What i really loved about the next year budget, mainly about the the 100% loan on buying your first house. Which provided that your income is below 3000 per month.

This is really an advantage to youth who just started their work. Property is really good investment.

Before this to buy a house you have to provide 10% deposit. Let say your  the price of the house is about 200k then you have to prepare about 20k. It takes quite sometimes for you to have that amount of money plus you have to save up to get married buy a car, thats why most people only have their own house when reaching 30+.

So this is a big opportunity to youngster to start buying a house which is a good investment. then maybe they can save up and invest in something or at least in ASB .

But of course the interest might be higher which me myself not sure about it, but like i just before its a good investment.

I will finish my study in about one and half years, hope that this policy will remain because i really interested in buying a house in early age : )

what the heck? ive got a blog~

hahahahahaha
its kinda funny knowing that i have a blog~
but lets just say is for fun!!!

my life,opinion and my advise
hope u will enjoy reading it
:)
